Created and hosted by A.M. Pfeffer, Hometown Blues is a weekly NFL comedy series built around one deeply troubling question: What the hell does rooting for a football team do to otherwise functional adults?
Each week, A.M. welcomes a comedian and devoted NFL fan into the Hometown Blues Institute for a completely unqualified psychological evaluation. Together, they examine the delusions, grudges, irrational optimism, emotional breakdowns, and deeply questionable life choices that come with supporting an NFL franchise.
No fanbase is immune. No diagnosis is particularly encouraging. And despite overwhelming evidence that football is destroying their emotional well-being, patients almost always return the following Sunday.
At the center of it all is Pfeffer, a lifelong New York Jets fan whose own decades of disappointment, denial, and misplaced optimism make him uniquely qualified to diagnose absolutely no one.
Because the only thing more irrational than being an NFL fan is believing you're the sane one.
