A.M. Pfeffer is the creator and host of Hometown Blues, a comedy-forward NFL series built around a simple question: What the hell does rooting for a football team do to otherwise functional adults?
Each week, A.M. sits down with a fellow NFL fan to examine the optimism, grudges, rituals, denial, rage and completely irrational behavior that come with loving a team. Part weekly NFL comedy show, part psychological evaluation, Hometown Blues treats football fandom for what it really is: a condition millions of Americans willingly aggravate every Sunday.
Before creating Hometown Blues, Pfeffer co-hosted Beyond the Surface on the X-Rayted Sports Network, covering the NBA alongside former players, coaches and industry personalities. He previously created and hosted NYJ Ground Crew, a New York Jets podcast—which provided years of involuntary field research into disappointment, bargaining and unreasonable hope.
Away from football, A.M. is the author of non-fiction manifesto Of, By and For the Hanged Man, as well as a collection of fictional short stories exploring character, conflict and the human condition.
Please do not hesitate to reach out, as I always welcome constructive feedback. I am also available for guest bookings on other shows to share insights, analysis, or simply discuss the business of sports.
